Special categories of personal data

Given the nature of the service, data you provide via a booking or contact form may contain information about your private life, sex life, or sexual preferences. Such information may qualify as special category data under the GDPR.

Silk Note processes such data only to the extent necessary to assess your request, contact you, and carry out any booking. Silk Note does not maintain a separate permanent database of form submissions on the website. Once the submission has been technically processed, it is not intentionally retained on the web server.

The content of the form is, however, sent to Silk Note by email. The received email, any replies, and further correspondence remain stored in Silk Note's email environment for the applicable retention period.

Technical service providers, such as the hosting provider, email delivery service, and email provider, may process data to the extent necessary to deliver the website and email service.

Silk Note takes measures to prevent full form content from being included in technical log files, error reports, or analytics systems.

Retention periods

Personal data are not retained longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. Silk Note applies the following indicative periods:

Silk Note distinguishes between what must be retained for 7 years under statutory fiscal obligations (invoices and fiscal records) and other correspondence, which is retained for a significantly shorter period.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
